For AI agents

MCP server

Connect an AI assistant or coding agent to Proxlai and it can look up current AI API prices itself, with the date each price was verified and a link to the provider's page. The server is read-only and needs no account.

Connect

The server address (Streamable HTTP):

https://proxlai.com/api/mcp

Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http proxlai https://proxlai.com/api/mcp

Clients configured with a JSON file that support remote servers:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "proxlai": {
      "url": "https://proxlai.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Clients that only run local (stdio) servers, through the mcp-remote bridge:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "proxlai": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "mcp-remote",
        "https://proxlai.com/api/mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Tools

list_markets
: Every market with its id and pricing unit. The starting point.
describe_market
: What a market is, how its pricing works, and the attributes you can filter on.
search_offerings
: Rank the offerings in a market by price, quality and speed, with requirements and a maximum price.
get_offering
: One offering in full: capabilities, current price with its source, and price history.
compare_offerings
: 2 to 4 offerings from one market side by side.

Every price comes with its unit, verified_at, a freshness tier, the provider's source_url and a link back to Proxlai. Sample prices that were not checked against the provider are marked unverified.

Limits

Without an API key: 30 calls a minute, and 100 searches or lookups a day, per visitor address. Listing and describing markets never count toward the daily number.

With an API key from your dashboard: 60 requests a minute per key, the same 100 free searches or lookups a day per account, then $0.01 each from your credit balance. The allowance is shared with the REST API.
